Prof. Rūta Lipinaitytė-Savickienė serves as String Department Head at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. She is also the Artistic Director of the Jascha Heifetz Violin Competition in Lithuania and has served as jury member at numerous international competitions, such as Vaclav Huml (Croatia), Arthur Grumiaux (Belgium), Karol Lipinski (Poland), Violinissimo (Kazakhstan), Sigulda (Latvia), and Piccolo Violino Magico (Italy). She has conducted master classes in Vilnius, Vienna, Oslo, Brussels, Malmö, Gothenburg, Tallinn, Riga, Tainan, Arkhangelsk, and St. Petersburg.
As soloist, Ms. Lipinaitytė-Savickienė has appeared with the Dresden Philharmonic, Brno Philharmonic Orchestra, Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, Croatian Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, Taiwan Artists Symphony Orchestra (TASO), the Lithuanian National and State Symphony Orchestras, Kremerata Baltica, the chamber orchestras of Klaipėda, Šiauliai, Tallinn, and Arkhangelsk, as well as Accademia d’Archi Arrigoni, Moscow Chamber Orchestra “The Seasons”, and Ensemble Musica Humana. In 2022, she made her debut with the Eesti Sinfonietta at the Wiener Konzerthaus.
Ms. Lipinaitytė-Savickienė is a founding member of Gidon Kremer’s Grammy-award winning Kremerata Baltica, performing from 1998 to 2014 as concertmaster and assistant concertmaster. Other notable appearances include the East-West Chamber Orchestra (concertmaster), Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra and Eesti Sinfonietta (guest concertmaster), Stuttgart SWR Symphony Orchestra (assistant concertmaster), and MusicAeterna Symphony Orchestra (concertmaster) led by Teodor Currentzis. She has also performed chamber music together with G. Kremer, T. Grindenko, M. Fedotova, K. Sidorova, A. Mustonen, A. Posch, M. Marcelli, P. Sadlo, S. Krimer, and L. Geniušas, among others.
In 2022, Ms. Lipinaitytė-Savickienė performed Algirdas Martinaitis’ Violin Concerto Three M’art Comedy Seasons on a CD released by Ondine Records. She also has over 40 audio recordings for the Lithuanian Radio, as well as a video release as soloist in Corigliano’s Violin Concerto (The Red Violin) with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Keri-Lynn Wilson. In 2020 Ms. Lipinaitytė initiated a project promoting music by Lithuanian composers for solo violin through social media. To date, she has already completed over 20 video releases of such works. Ms. Lipinaitytė-Savickienė has commissioned a number of works by Lithuanian composers, such as A. Martinaitis, J. Tamulionis, J. Juozapaitis, J. Jurkūnas, and M. Salynas.
Rūta Lipinaitytė-Savickienė has received several Lithuanian Artists State Scholarships, as well as a Yamaha Music Europe Foundation Scholarship. In 2020, she won the Lithuanian Musicians’ Union Golden Disc Award.
